Abstract

BNDF is hypothesized to underlie the development and maintenance of self-regulatory ability. We investigated the effect of BDNF genetic variants on self-regulatory functioning using self-report measures and a virtual foraging task. Presence of non-normal genetic variant was linked to reports of impaired self-regulatory ability and sub-optimal goal pursuit strategies.
