APS Submits Comments on Draft NSF Guidance on Financial Assistance (GFA)

APS submitted comments on the National Science Foundation’s proposed changes to it’s Guidance on Financial Assistance (GFA). The proposed changes seeks to preemptively implement the proposed OMB rule, which is not in effect and will not be until at least December 11th, 2026. NSF’s proposal, if implemented, would jeopardize the system of checks and balances to ensure the NSF continues to serve its mission to fund rigorous foundational science with integrity and scientific independence.
