1993 James McKeen Cattell Fellow Award

The Association for Psychological Science names Sandra Scarr as a James McKeen Cattell Fellow in recognition of her distinguished achievements in psychological science.

Through her research efforts and public policy initiatives, Sandra Scarr has worked tirelessly to improve conditions for children and families in this nation. During her distinguished career, she has directed several major research projects that have addressed fundamental problems relation to child development and family life. In addition, she has given freely of her time to serve in leadership positions in several professional associations to the great benefit of the discipline of psychology and the nation.

For her many contributions to basic and applied issues in developmental psychology, she is recognized as a leader in psychological science.
