Formal Modeling Across Psychopathology: Examples From Three Formal Theories
Rich verbal theories of psychopathology have informed research and evidence-based treatments. Yet, verbal theories lack specificity and contain hidden assumptions, limiting progress. This symposium highlights three novel approaches to formalizing psychopathology, including formal theories of impulsivity and eating disorder pathology, and extending an existing formal theory of panic disorder.
