Breaking the Cycle: Global Evidence on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) across Lifespan and Generations

Saturday, May 30, 2026 · Barcelona, Spain

Oral · Mind Under Pressure: Stress, Trauma & Resilience

Why do adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) matter across generations? To answer this question, decades of global evidence informed three meta-analyses: (1) determinants of ACEs prevalence; (2) socioeconomic status mediating ACEs and adult depression; and (3) intergenerational pathways from parent ACEs to child mental health via parental mental health.
