Abstract
Using longitudinal data from 11,549 university students, we examined trajectories of suicidal ideation. LGBTQ+ identity consistently predicted incidence, persistence, and recurrence of suicidal ideation. Depression and generalized anxiety disorder were the strongest risk factors for new-onset ideation, while generalized anxiety disorder and PTSD predicted persistence, and ADHD predicted recurrence.
