Abstract
Across two experiments, repeated retrieval followed by corrective feedback improved memory accuracy and supported the forward testing effect to new learning, in younger and older adults. Behavioral and neural evidence from oscillatory activity indicates that learning from memory errors strengthens subsequent encoding, supporting memory updating and learning capacity in aging.
