Abstract
I examined the mediating and moderating roles of ethnic-racial identity and psychological resilience in the discrimination-depression association among 294 BIPOC youth (Mage = 22.17). Path analysis showed that self-hatred and salience mediated risk, resilience was protective, and ethnocentricity exacerbated effects. Findings highlight identity and resilience as risk and protective processes.
