Culture and Context Reveal the Ways That Bilinguals Regulate Two Languages In Mind

Abstract
Bilinguals negotiate competition between their two languages. How that process shapes language, cognition, and the brain has been an active focus of research. I present findings from recent studies showing that the ways bilinguals come to regulate that competition reflect variation in the culture and context in which they occur.
