From Species Taxonomy to Psychiatric Nosology: Mental Disorders As Homeostatic Property Clusters

Psychiatric classification struggles with heterogeneity, comorbidity, and limited utility. Drawing on biological species concepts, I frame mental disorders as homeostatic property clusters (HPCs): probabilistic aggregations of biopsychosocial properties without sharp boundaries. I propose a Mental Health Atlas to map properties, relations, and dynamics, positioning HPCs as a unifying meta-framework.
