Abstract
Employees often misjudge how managers view social issue advocacy. Across four studies, lower-power sellers perceived greater image risk and lower success than buyers, revealing power-driven perception gaps. Lateral selling, allies, and information reduced pessimism but not risk perception. Findings highlight how power shapes judgment and limits organizational social action.
