Abstract
This preregistered meta-analysis synthesized 30 studies examining associations between child and parent self-compassion and youth emotional functioning. Self-compassion was linked to fewer emotional difficulties and greater strengths-oriented outcomes. Moderator analyses showed variation by developmental stage and clinical status.
