Busting the Myth of "Just Provide Resources": Evidence from a Field RCT on Behavioral Supports for Teleworkers

We conducted a preregistered four-arm field RCT (N=1,024) testing low cost remote work interventions. Mixed-effects analyses showed no intent-to-treat effects; instead, well-being and productivity improved only with active engagement. Adoption and sustained use of workspace redesign recommendations and digital tools predicted gains, revealing a critical resource-utilization gap in remote-work support.
