Toward a Refined Measure of Erotophobia–Erotophilia: Re-Examining the Sexual Opinion Survey As a Window into Sexual Personality

The criterion validity of the original Sexual Opinion Survey (SOS), new SOS items, and items from related measures was evaluated to identify optimal predictors of affective responses to sexual stimuli/erotophobia-erotophilia (EE). Confirmatory factor analysis supported a bi-factor model, extending the original SOS’s three-factor structure and enhancing measurement of EE.
