Beyond Motivation: Development and Validation of a Task Commitment Scale

Task commitment—sustained interest, enthusiasm, and high standards for academic work—remains central yet poorly measured in Renzulli’s theory (Renzulli, 1990). Building on pilot EFA with 297 students, we will validate a four-factor scale through CFA in ~600 students, test reliability and measurement invariance, and examine convergent validity with academic motivation measures.
