Love for Others Mediates the Relationship between Psychopathy and Loneliness.

We examined the positive associations among psychopathy, love, and loneliness in a demographically representative sample of the Washington, DC, region, and found love mediates the psychopathy-loneliness correlation. Love is the mechanistic pathway through which individuals with psychopathic traits struggle to develop close bonds, placing them at risk of being lonely.
