Abstract

In a multinational longitudinal study of 568 healthcare professionals, burnout was found to increase emotional reactivity to daily stressors, which in turn predicted turnover intentions. The findings support the Strain-Effect Hypothesis and highlight the need for organizational strategies to support and strengthen resilience in particular among at-risk individuals.
