Abstract
Prior work suggests that events with more causal consequences are remembered better than events with more antecedents. The current study aims to experimentally assess four possible explanations, Reactivation, Cognitive Effort, Event Completion, and Uniqueness, by testing 120 undergraduates and manipulating narrative structure.
