Persistent Changes In Serotonin Transporter Expression In the Hippocampus and Prefrontal Cortex of Adult Male C57BL/6 Mice Following Adolescent Fluoxetine Exposure

Abstract
We explored how adolescent fluoxetine exposure (AFE) influences serotonin-transporter (SERT)-expression in the adult hippocampus and prefrontal cortex. Adolescent mice received fluoxetine for 15 days. In adulthood, hippocampus and prefrontal cortex were dissected and analyzed for SERT expression. AFE increased SERTs in the hippocampus and decreased them in the prefrontal cortex.
