Working Hard for Nothing: Effects of Task Effort on Persistence In Extinction
- Pinkston Jonathan

Abstract
The present study examined the effects of task effort on behavioral persistence. Rats (n = 8) were trained to procure food reward in high and low effort tasks, and then rewards were withdrawn to examine behavioral persistence. Task effort significantly reduced persistence after four days in extinction.
