Abstract
Non-arbitrary mental associations exist between nonsense words such as ‘kiki’ and objects, including tactile shape and texture. Using a less biased procedure (match rating of one sound-shape pair at a time), we reported associations between tactile sensations and specific phonemic features in healthy young adults, extending prior research.
