Explaining the Invisible: Learning Disability Disclosure at Work

Abstract
Employees with learning disabilities remain understudied in organizational research. Using a critical incident methodology with 116 employed participants, we find 78% disclosed their learning disability, primarily to leaders and colleagues. Proactive claiming strategies generated more positive reactions than reactive downplaying, advancing understanding of learning disability disclosure in organizations.
