Abstract
Juror bias in child sexual abuse trials shapes verdict outcomes. Our study examined the effects of victim and defendant gender and defendant sexual orientation in a mock abuse trial. Female defendants accused of abusing girls received higher guilt ratings, but removing the most conservative jurors eliminated this gender bias.
