Rewriting Narratives through Play: Using Games to Shift Disability Beliefs

Disability stigma persists despite policy reforms, reflecting ingrained cultural narratives. Can narratives change with informal learning experiences? We tested whether a serious board game or a poster gallery walk influenced beliefs. Game play increased disability-awareness (p’s<.05) and knowledge (p<.001), which persisted a week later, highlighting its educational potential.
