Ear-LY Genius: Development and Validation of the Proms-K, a Comprehensive Measure of Music Perception Abilities In School Children

Abstract
We introduce a gamified, objective measure of music perception skills in children aged 6-10 years. Psychometric properties were established through in-field assessments across two primary schools (N=288), complemented by caregiver and teacher ratings of children’s music behavior. Results support robust evidence of convergent and criterion validity across different age groups.
