Abstract
Conspiracy theories often simultaneously encourage empirically unsupported beliefs and discourage empirically supported beliefs, which may require different debunking strategies. Conspiracy theory believers will rate their belief in their theory and the alternative empirically supported view before and after a conversation with a conspiracy-refuting or consensus-supporting AI chatbot.
