Abstract

Privacy attitudes moderately predicted privacy-protective behaviors in a structural equation model based on a survey of young adults at a German university. Privacy literacy weakly predicted attitudes but did not directly influence behavior. These results suggest that privacy-awareness interventions may be more effective when they actively target underlying attitudes.
