Abstract
This study examined how eating styles (emotional, external, restrained) influence eating decisions in 565 young adults. External eating predicted lower health and higher taste decision weights, while restrained eating predicted higher health decision weights. Although negative affect and dietary self-control did not moderate these effects, dietary self-control promoted health-oriented eating.
