Improving Misinformation Discernment through Training In Actively Open-Minded Thinking and Overconfidence Reduction

Actively open-minded thinking and overconfidence have both been associated with misinformation discernment, yet causal evidence for their role is lacking. The current research proposal aims to develop interventions to improve both individual differences and establish their causal role in misinformation belief using an experimental approach.
