Parenting Self-Regulation Is Related to Positive and Negative Parenting Practices Among Trauma Exposed Parents

Abstract
This study explores the relation between parenting self-regulation (the ability to control thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to meet caregiving demands) and parenting practices among trauma-exposed parents. Results show that parenting self-regulation is associated with positive and negative parenting practices. Findings highlight the importance of parenting self-regulation in research and practice.
