The Impact of Feedback from People Vs. Algorithms When Judging Potential Romantic Partners

When 'beta-testing' a new dating app, college students' (N=64) ratings of and willingness to accept a date with 'red flag' potential romantic partners were affected by the interaction between peer consensus and algorithmic match information (p = .003). Importantly, positive consensus information drove up ratings regardless of algorithmic match.
