Abstract

We explored the relationship between childhood traumatic experiences and early maladaptive cognitive schemas in 215 adults using the CEQ-58 and YSQ-S3. We found that the strongest relationship was childhood adversities and components of schema such as emotional deprivation and social isolation, supporting the importance of traumatic experiences on schema development.
