A Mental Scaling Perspective on Advice Taking and Anchoring: The Impact of Ecological Range and Frequency

In a series of six experiments, we apply a novel conceptual framework of information integration combining information updating and mental scaling. In a judge-advisor and an anchoring paradigm, we replicate findings on advice distance and convergence. We find mixed effects of out-of-range values on advice taking and anchoring.
