Abstract
We investigated if declarative memory for emotional faces is embodied. Identity and expression memory is inhibited for faces presented in the early vs. late cardiac cycle phase, but post-learning stress did not affect memory performance. Hence, cardiac signals may affect encoding, but not consolidation of memory for emotional faces.
