A Whole Is the Sum of Its Parts: Development of a Holistic Face Recognition Training

A training program was developed to improve face recognition by facilitating holistic processing. 151 undergraduate participants displayed slightly poorer performance on a recognition task after completing the training compared to before; however, qualitative data from the training revealed evidence of holistic processing not captured by the recognition task.
