Abstract
Momentary distress tolerance is hypothesized to fluctuate in response to distress intensity and willingness to tolerate distress, but this hypothesis has not yet been empirically tested. In the current study (N=877, 86.2% women), stronger negative affect related to lower momentary distress tolerance, especially among individuals less willing to tolerate distress.
