Abstract

We examined the effect of (non-)stereotypical TikTok videos on cognitive performance in 190 women. The manipulation had no direct effects; however, self-objectification moderated the influence of video condition on quantitative and verbal performance, indicating that transient shifts in self-objectification moderate how media exposure shapes cognitive outcomes in this study.
