Malicious Envy In Close Relationships: A Multi Method Examination of Forgiveness As a Mediator

Across four studies (N = 1,161) using correlational, diary, longitudinal, and experimental designs, we examined how dispositional, state, and manipulated malicious envy undermines relationship harmony with close others. Findings consistently showed forgiveness mediates this effect, highlighting its critical role in regulating perceived harmony with close others amid envy-driven interpersonal tensions.
