Abstract
Children in low-support families report fewer internalizing symptoms, although their parents report more internalizing symptoms. This suggests children in less supportive families underreport their symptoms. These findings show that family climate influences children’s willingness to disclose distress and emphasize the need for multi-informant assessment in clinical practice.
