latent is a fast, open-source R package that enables reliable estimation of latent variable models used in psychological research. By preventing convergence failures and ensuring stable solutions, latent fits challenging models in personality, intelligence, and health research that are often infeasible to estimate with existing tools. Empirical examples are presented.
