Abstract

Data from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development study was analyzed to investigate whether problematic media use (PMU) mediates longitudinal changes in mental health, and if trauma exposure moderates this relationship. Analyses indicated that mental health problems and trauma exposure independently contributed to PMU, which subsequently exacerbated mental health problems.
