Support for Unidimensionality and Ultra-Short-Form Development of the Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale: A Meta-Analytic Factor Analysis

We meta-analyzed 39 psychometric studies of the intolerance of uncertainty scale (IUS) published in the past three decades. Meta-analytic confirmatory factor analyses supported the use of only its total score but not the subscale scores. We further developed a shortened 6-item IUS for future studies through item response theory analysis.
