Abstract
This study found sex differences in suicide risk's latent structure. Males showed categorical structure for volitional symptoms, while females showed dimensional structure. Given males' higher fatal suicide attempt rates, early identification of high-volitional-risk males is crucial. Findings support sex-specific suicide risk assessment and intervention strategies.
