From the Perspective of Incarcerated Fathers: The Role of Childhood Adversity In Children’s Behavioral, Emotional, and Cognitive Problems

This study examined how father-reported childhood adversity is associated with behavioral, emotional, and cognitive difficulties of children with incarcerated fathers. Children exposed to high levels of adversity showed significantly greater difficulties than those with low adversity. Findings underscore the need for comprehensive interventions addressing the impact of adversities in children.
