Abstract
We developed and tested the Biopsychological Owls and Larks Typology, a new psychological model of chronotype based on energy level and its regulation. In 1426 adults (Mage = 40.63), results supported four distinct chronotype profiles differing in affective and temperamental functioning, confirming chronotype as a biopsychological system of energy regulation.
