Abstract
In a longitudinal study of recent victims of severe sexual assault, we identified social support barriers and perceived social support as significant, independent predictors of both posttraumatic stress reactions and anxiety/depression 6 months after study inclusion (wave 3). These effects were independent of sociodemographic and assault characteristics.
