How Are Fear and Disgust Maintained and Organized In Affective Working Memory?

This proposal examines whether fear and disgust show distinct and conceptually organized patterns in AWM. Experiment 1 tests simultaneous maintenance; Experiment 2 tests how semantic relatedness shapes sequential updating. We expect emotion-specific maintenance and similarity-based retrograde effects, indicating that AWM preserves structured representations rather than a unitary negative state.
