Abstract
We examined whether children's cognitive control style predicts academic achievement in Mathematics, Language, English as a Second Language, and Natural and Social Sciences taught in English. AX-CPT indices of proactivity and cue-driven anticipation differentially predicted grades at testing and two years later, revealing time-dependent benefits and costs of proactive control.
