Imagining It Is Feeling It: Validating the Influence of a Goal Imagery Task Onto Self-Report and Physiological Measures of Emotional Activation

The influence of a goal imagery, mind-wandering, and control condition were tested on state imagery, emotional activation and valence using self-report, physiological and operant measures within 53 participants. Results provide support for an effect of goal imagery onto self-reported emotional valence and physiological activation, with conditional effects of eye states.
