Abstract

This study evaluates how acute psychosocial stress influences the intrinsic reward of inferring word meanings from their context, and how it affects memory formation. We propose two complementary between-subjects experiments, one behavioural and one using fMRI, to test stress effects on subjective, physiological, and neural markers of reward and memory.
